Juanita D. M. Brower

The Rev. Dr. Juanita Dianne Mitchell-Brower serves as the Assistant Pastor at the Forestville New Redeemer Baptist Church in Forestville, MD, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Nathaniel B. Thomas, the Senior Pastor there. She teaches music to the students ranging in grades from Pre-School to 6th grade in the Christian school located there, in the name of The Children of Promise Christian Academy. She earned her Doctoral degree of Divinity at the Calvary Christian College, in Waldorf , MD, May 2006. The Lord has gifted her to be a gospel preacher, teacher, singer, Choir director and musician.

She was reared with her family in Gethsemane Baptist Church, Washington, D.C. and migrated with her family when her father, Rev. Samuel Mitchell, Jr. was called to the Pastorate of the Rising Sun Baptist Church, Wash. DC in 1989. March 26, 1995, she was called to be interim Pastor for the Agape Missionary Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. and was ordained in May of the same year. To prepare her for the preaching ministry she has been educated in several local seminaries and Christian colleges such as the Washington Baptist Seminary, Maple Springs Baptist Bible College & Seminary, and Washington Bible College, to name a few.

She has instructed and preached as facilitators in Women’s workshops, Youth, Music and Marriage seminars. She has been actively involved in “Community Outreach” being a part of the EVOL Prison Ministry, the Youth, Homeless and Nursing care ministry and currently serving as the Executive Director of the Forestville Agape Outreach Ministries. This too is another ministry of the Forestville New Redeemer Baptist Church. When asked about her goals in life, she simply says, “I just want to make a difference in someone else’s life by not looking down on any man, without picking them up, and I’m seeking the lost at any cost.”

She is married to Deacon Alvin L. Brower, III, the mother of 2 sons, Alphonso Vondell, and Alvin Lendell IV, and the proud grandmother of nine beautiful grandchildren. She is the eldest daughter of Pastor Emeritus and Mrs. Samuel Mitchell, Jr. of Rising Sun Baptist of Washington D.C., and the eldest sister to the current Pastor of Rising Sun Baptist, Rev. Marlow L. Mitchell.
