Principal Diane W. Thomas

Diane W. Thomas received her high school diploma in 1967, from McKinley High School. She furthered her education at Morgan State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1971. She continued her education at University of the District of Columbia, where she received a Masters in Early Childhood Education Degree in 1982.

Ms. Thomas taught in the Baltimore City Public School System for thirty -two years before retiring in 2002. She was a classroom teacher with approximately 30-35 students.  She was responsible for all areas of the curriculum as well as the emotional and social growth of the students.  She taught grade levels 1-6th.  With her experience, she feels that we can stay in touch with the state expectations/standards as we follow the Christian based program.  Mrs. Thomas also mentored many new teachers who have developed into fine educators.

She worked with the third and fourth grade class here at Children of Promise Christian Academy as a writing resource instructor.  The children made great progress and showed confidence in writing a variety of 5-6 paragraph selections.

One of her passions is camping. Through the summers of 1971 – 1995, she worked as a Day Camp director throughout various day camps under the DC Dept. of Recreation.

She is married to Rev. Dr. Nathaniel B. Thomas.  They have three children and three grandchildren.
